  • Starting salary for mechanic is $34.50 per hour plus .75 cents shift differential for night shift. 
  • There is an opportunity to advance from mechanic to Journeyman Mechanic which is $36.00/hr. and then Senior Mechanic which is $38.00/hr. We partner with the local college (Rowan College of South Jersey) for additional training needed to achieve the journeyman and senior mechanic
  • In addition, the rates will be going up again on March 12, 2025, to $35.54 per hour for mechanic; $37.08 per hour for Journeyman Mechanic; $39.14 per hour for Senior Mechanic + the .75 cent differential


We have several openings for mechanics. All are night shift 6:00 pm – 6:30 am on the 2-2-3-2 schedule

All new hires will come on at either the Mechanic or Journeyman Mechanic level and can work their way up from there.


Maintenance Shift Mechanic

Location: Bridgeton, NJ

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Shift Mechanic to join our team at a leading food and beverage manufacturing facility. This critical role is essential to maintaining the efficiency, safety, and reliability of our operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving while ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment, including hand and power tools, hydraulic presses, welding equipment, and electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls issues to minimize downtime.
  • Complete assigned work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and emergency repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, logging all completed tasks, parts usage, and incidents in the maintenance planning system.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to ensure precision in repairs and installations.
  • Assist in developing and improving maintenance procedures, policies, and instructions.
  • Promote safety by inspecting tools, equipment, and work areas, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and planning departments, to align on priorities and improve overall equipment performance.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and integrated work systems, including autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, and focused improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Experience with process control systems (e.g., RS View), instrumentation, pumps, motors, compressors, and ammonia-based systems.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley RS Logix 5000 and ladder logic programming preferred.
  • Strong understanding of servo-driven equipment and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical certifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience in the food and beverage or dairy manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a root-cause mentality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including CMMS, email, and basic office software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for precision tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds occasionally and work in high-heat, high-humidity environments.
  • Comfortable working near moving machinery and in areas with high noise levels, using mandatory PPE.
