job description:

Operate multiple friction & wear test rigs. Prepare test samples, collect and record data, track performance trends, interrupt test data and assess validation calibrate test equipment and upkeep of test equipment. Maintain test stand design and make enhancements as required by the project leader. Compose instructions and test procedures. Work closely and assists skill staff in performing work. Move materials and equipment as required for work operations. Operate simple computer programs using basic computer skills. Conducts routine tests following rigid written or verbal instructions. Maintain inventory levels for equipment and supplies. Maintain a clean work environment and complies with all safety regulations and standards for working around potentially hazardous materials during testing. Supports department projects activities as required relative to project demands. Follow and adhere to safety practices.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of mechanical experience
• 1-3 years of Microsoft office experience
• Must have basic math abilities and functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and calculating percentages
• Must have knowledge of automotive engine components, automotive fluids and basic functions
• Ability to use computer for data entry and test diagnostics.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications i.e. Excel and Word.
• Must have knowledge of basic hand tools and material handling equipment.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to interpret schematics of test rigs and test instructions
• Ability to assemble and disassemble small components for testing
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in groups or independently
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required
• Must have steel toed shoes
• Must be able to work different shift

Work Schedule is 24/7 -8 hour shifts, must be able to work days, nights and weekend as needed
