Job Overview:
The Paint Line Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing processes related to powder coat applications. This role involves improving production efficiency, monitoring production and quality of power coat line. Setup, programming, and troubleshooting all powder coat equipment to ensure maximum efficiency with high quality results.
Job Description/Competence Requirements:
Responsibilities and Authority
· Develop, optimize, and document powder coating processes to improve production efficiency, quality and running costs.
· Analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement in production times, material usage, and energy consumption.
· Program, setup, and calibrate powder coating equipment for coating operations.
· Lead line startup activities and line shutdown and beginning and end of shifts.
· Provide technical support to the paint line team, ensuring powder that powder coating operations run smoothly and consistently meeting all quality requirements.
· Continuously monitor and troubleshoot process issues, making adjustments to ensure optimal results.
· Lead color change over activities, coach team members on best practices.
· Train and mentor powder coat staff on new processes, equipment and best practices in powder coating.
· Collaborate with maintenance department to ensure all equipment, including blaster, dust collector, washer, ovens, and spray booths are functioning correctly and efficiently.
· Work with quality control department to establish and maintain powder coating standards and inspection criteria.
· Conduct root cause analysis on quality defects, implement corrective actions, and track effectiveness.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems, such as ISO, NFPA, and API.
· Ensure HSE plans are in place and operations are in compliance with HSE regulations.
· Assist with creating procurement and production forecasts and reports.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
· Experience with ERP software
· Proficient with Microsoft suite.
Technical Knowledge
· Knowledgeable with company offerings
· Experience with fusion powder coat epoxy paint systems.
· Knowledgeable of NACE standards.

· Proven experience with setup, and operation of powder coat production lines.
· Experience Required
· 5+ years’ experience operating powder coat paint line systems, with 2 years holding a process engineer role..
