Small Engine Mechanic

Purpose

 As small engine tech you will be required to perform repairs and maintenance on turf equipment, ATV/UTV’s and other small engine equipment. Will require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.  


Essential Functions

The following are essential functions of this position:

  • Performs repairs and maintenance on small engine equipment.  
  • Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required for the position.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations require in conjunction with job assignments.
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
  • Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
  • May participate in service training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.


Physical Demands

This position requires minimal physical demands that are necessary to perform the essential functions of the position, including:

Talking and hearing. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow manufacturer’s pre-delivery instructions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles, tools and equipment used in machinery pre-delivery and set-up process.
  • Fundamental level of knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by Client.  

Preferred Education or Experience

  • Fork lift certification.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Employee must provide their own tools that will be necessary to complete assigned jobs.
