Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic – Packaging
Pay Rate: $34.34/hr + $1.25/hr night shift differential
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shift (every other weekend off)
Shifts:
- A: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- B: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- C: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- D: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Note: Training may occur on day shift
Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Packaging team. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of production and facility equipment. You will complete preventive and corrective maintenance across a wide variety of industrial machinery to support safety, quality, efficiency, and uptime goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on equipment to ensure reliable operation
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain and repair ASRS systems, conveyors, and other machinery—requires climbing up to 10 levels using fall protection
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log time, parts, and work performed
- Adhere to and enforce all safety, health, and environmental procedures including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, and arc flash protocols
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times
- Communicate clearly with area owners and supervisors regarding job status, issues, and delays
- Support continuous improvement and reliability efforts through root cause analysis and focused projects
- Use hand and power tools appropriately, ensuring proper care and storage
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, SOPs, and equipment manuals
- Basic computer skills for logging work and reviewing maintenance records
- Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks
- Experienced in welding and basic fabrication preferred
- Familiarity with food safety maintenance procedures and GMP compliance
- Must complete all required safety, health, and environmental training in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills—written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a wet, noisy, and physically demanding setting
