Job Summary
This role is responsible for planning and preparing detailed electrical work packages for both large- and small-scale projects within a nuclear facility. The work packages will support electrical and contract maintenance teams in executing safe, compliant, and efficient modifications and repairs. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to ensure all project-related tasks align with plant standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
Principal Accountabilities
- Develop and deliver electrical work instructions and direction for maintenance teams and contractors.
- Identify materials, drawings, equipment, and procedures needed for work execution.
- Recommend or select procurement items for project material needs.
- Conduct field walkdowns to scope tasks, identify challenges, and gather data for work package refinement.
- Interface with Supply, Engineering, Work Management, and Operations to resolve package issues.
- Prepare and submit required documentation such as RWP’s, barrier impairments, ALARA plans, Operability statements, Quality hold points, and Regulatory or Code compliance forms.
- Ensure all work instructions align with station procedures, NEC codes, and regulatory standards.
- Review and approve work packages for safety, technical quality, and regulatory compliance, including 10CFR50.59 evaluation if needed.
- Revise and develop maintenance procedures in alignment with vendor recommendations and code requirements.
- Oversee other planners or contractors in support of detailed work planning efforts.
- Participate in scheduling meetings, planner peer reviews, craft interface meetings, clearance order reviews, and other planning processes.
- Support maintenance risk management and interact with plant systems and work controls.
Education & Experience Requirements
Required (one of the following combinations):
- Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of technical experience (maintenance, engineering, operations, or maintenance planning)
- OR Associate degree + 8 years of technical experience
- OR High school diploma/GED + technical/apprenticeship training + 6 years of technical experience
- OR High school diploma/GED + 10 years of technical experience
Note: College education may substitute year-for-year for experience in a technical area.
Desired:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a nuclear power environment is highly preferred but not required

- Capable of obtaining Planner I qualification
