Job Title: Site Superintendent – Construction
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Superintendent with a trade background (Journeyman Electrician, Plumber, or HVAC Technician preferred) who is ready to transition into a supervisory role. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with hands-on field experience who is also comfortable with documentation and computer-based project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day construction site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Coordinate field work with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.
- Assist in planning and scheduling tasks and resources for project execution.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work complies with project specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress tracking.
- Communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates and resolve on-site issues.
- Participate in jobsite meetings and enforce site safety protocols and policies.
- Use computer systems to document and report progress, manage scheduling, and track inventory or materials.
- Mentor field crew and help bridge field expertise with leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Journeyman-level experience in Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, with exposure to both fieldwork and administrative processes.
- Strong interest in transitioning into or growing within a site supervisory role.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management or scheduling software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and direct tradespeople and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA).
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience managing small teams or coordinating field activities is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction management software ( Procore) a bonus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate a construction site for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working both indoors (job trailers/offices) and outdoors in varying conditions.
