Job Overview:


As a Maintenance Lead, you will oversee maintenance operations on your assigned shift, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of all plant equipment. This role requires a hands-on leader who can guide a team of technicians, manage preventative maintenance tasks, and handle repair, installation, and troubleshooting duties to minimize unplanned breakdowns. You’ll work closely with plant management to keep equipment functioning efficiently, contributing to the safety, cleanliness, and productivity of the facility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop your shift's maintenance team, assigning tasks, guiding new technicians, and supporting skill development.
  • Equipment Management: Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment across the facility, troubleshooting and adjusting as necessary to meet production demands.
  • Project Coordination: Work alongside contractors and vendors, overseeing schedules and ensuring timely, quality repairs, while tracking expenses and project budgets.
  • Communication & Reporting: Prepare and distribute end-of-shift maintenance reports, participate in cross-shift meetings, and escalate any urgent plant issues to ensure seamless communication.
  • Preventative & Predictive Maintenance: Carry out scheduled maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, infrared scans, and oil analysis, to prevent breakdowns and maintain equipment longevity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively observe plant processes, identifying areas for operational improvement and implementing adjustments for enhanced safety, efficiency, and quality.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in maintenance or a related role in manufacturing; food and beverage industry experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in PLC programming, ladder diagrams, and troubleshooting of PLC and PID controllers. Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques is crucial.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and comfortable working in various industrial conditions, including heights, temperature extremes, and near moving machinery.


Required Skills:

  • Proficient in multi-craft maintenance skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of plant utility systems (e.g., boilers, compressed air, water filtration).
  • Competence with CMMS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities in electrical and control systems, including PLCs and VFDs.

  • Ability to handle mathematical tasks related to calculations and measurements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive safety and quality measures.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, and adaptability to shift changes as required by the plant’s production schedule.
