Technical Program Manager

Pay: $41.80 per hour

Duration: 6-month contract (January 5 through June)

Location: Hybrid, Louisville

Overview

This role manages strategic programs across engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain. The Technical Program Manager drives planning, coordinates cross-functional execution, and keeps complex workstreams on track. Technical in this context means working with teams that support production systems, quality processes, and operational improvements. You will not be coding or designing equipment, but you must understand how technical functions connect and communicate.

Key Responsibilities

Program Planning and Execution

  • Build project plans, timelines, and milestone trackers.
  • Lead weekly and monthly program routines with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain documentation, notes, action logs, and decision histories.
  • Track deliverables and ensure outcomes stay aligned with business goals.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the main point of contact for engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain.
  • Define ownership, clarify tasks, and support teams in closing gaps.
  • Facilitate structured problem solving and follow-through.
  • Keep communication consistent and actionable.

Risk and Issue Management

  • Identify risks and issues early.
  • Develop mitigation plans and escalate when needed.
  • Monitor dependencies and keep teams aligned on critical paths.
  • Support recovery plans when timelines shift.

Reporting and Communication

  • Build status reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Present clear program updates and milestone summaries.
  • Highlight variances and recommend corrective actions.

Process and Operational Support

  • Support improvements to workflow, documentation, and communication.
  • Identify bottlenecks and propose efficiency gains.
  • Assist with short-term workstreams requiring structure and coordination.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods or Food and Beverage environments.
  • Familiarity with production processes, quality workflows, or product lifecycle activities.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to create structure and drive accountability across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience supporting engineering, quality, or operations teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize complex information.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
