Per Diem (if required) – Per GSA rates for first 90 days, then $150. Mob and de-mob is airfare and receipts or mileage and receipts. No rental car reimbursement. No reimbursed flights except for mob/de-mob.

Work is 100% onsite.



Role Overview: This position provides technical leadership and accountability to ensure the technical adequacy and appropriateness of all engineering activities within the designated discipline. As a recognized technical authority, this role offers expertise for solving complex problems beyond the standard scope and ensures compliance with design bases and engineering methods. The position requires broad capabilities and extensive experience in engineering problem-solving and practical application within a specific technical discipline.

Badge Requirements:

  • Green Badge Level 1: Requires completion of an ePHQ, a full background screen, and FFD testing. Access includes buildings outside and inside the protected area, excluding the main plant.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Technical Assurance: Ensure technical quality by reviewing and approving design changes, calculations, licensing documents, and system health reports as assigned by management.
  • Program/Discipline Leadership: Define, implement, and manage major engineering programs with minimal guidance, ensuring technical quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide in-depth technical guidance and mentoring to engineering personnel, actively participating in multidiscipline engineering efforts.
  • Consultation & Problem Resolution: Act as a senior authority, offering engineering consultation and guidance on complex systems and component issues, integrating various factors for effective solutions.
  • Code & Standards Compliance: Offer consultation on codes, standards, and licensing requirements, ensuring appropriate actions are documented in technical procedures.
  • Method Development: Develop advanced engineering methods and practices to meet organizational missions and establish a professional reputation through industry contributions.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Required: Candidates must possess two of the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Advanced degree
  • Additionally, 12 years of discipline-specific engineering experience, with at least 7 years related to nuclear power.

Preferred

  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with Nuclear Design Change Process and 50.59 Licensing Process. Experience in pipe stress analysis, pipe support, hanger support, and floor loading is desirable.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, theories, and advanced analysis techniques to solve complex problems.
