Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on support equipment such as cooling towers, air compressors, dryers, boilers, chillers, and related systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance on designated schedules and document all work performed.
• Respond promptly to mechanical malfunctions to minimize laboratory downtime.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors, lead personnel, and project leaders.
• Work independently or alongside other shop personnel as required.
• Be willing and able to learn and perform general maintenance repairs as needed.
• Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
• Learn to safely operate common labeling and hand tools, as well as shop equipment such as drill press, bandsaw, grinders, and metalworking tools.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of basic carpentry, mechanical, or maintenance experience, or completion of formal vocational classes that teach basic mechanical skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking and standing; occasional lifting, crouching, stooping, reaching, grasping, and climbing ladders up to 12 feet.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; anything over 50 pounds requires assistance.
• Must wear steel-toed shoes.
• Must be able to pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
