Electrical Engineer – Production & Factory Support
Location: Tucson, AZ
Type: Full-time contract
Pay: $60–$65/hr

Overview
This role supports high-reliability electronic and electro-mechanical systems in a fast-paced production environment. You will serve as the technical owner for factory and supplier issues, diagnosing failures, determining root cause, creating and executing corrective action plans, and driving problems to full closure. Success in this role requires technical depth, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality teams.
Primary Mission
You will be responsible for rapid assessment, triage, and resolution of production issues. This includes determining what information is missing, identifying the right resources, prioritizing the urgency among competing problems, and constructing a clear troubleshooting path. You must be able to communicate this plan to cross-functional stakeholders, provide updates throughout the investigation, and ensure final resolution is documented and implemented.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead problem resolution for factory and supplier-related issues
• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and electro-mechanical systems
• Maintain and update the Technical Data Package (TDP), including engineering change documentation within cPDM
• Prepare and present engineering change packages to internal review and change boards
• Coordinate resources and own issues through full closure, ensuring alignment with production needs
• Perform peer reviews for other engineers across Engineering and Operations
• Analyze defects, yield data, and recurring failure modes to drive process improvements
• Utilize lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, programmable power supplies, signal/spectrum/network analyzers
• Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and Bills of Material
• Support production testing, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production and test operations
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates must have experience with:
• Debugging and testing digital, analog, RF, or mixed-signal circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems
• Root-Cause Corrective Action methodologies
• Manufacturing or test engineering support for electronic assemblies
• Lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, etc.)
• Reading and interpreting schematics, PCB layouts, and BoMs
• Active or Interim Secret clearance (required for start)
Preferred Skills
• Prior experience supporting high-reliability electronics production environments
• Hands-on design experience with CCA, RF, EO, sensors/seekers, or electronic subsystems
• Familiarity with PCB fabrication, CCA processes, and test automation
• Experience with tools such as Mentor Graphics Designer, PSPICE, MATLAB, Mathcad, CST, HFSS, ADS
• Background in subsystem integration/test, post-test analysis, SPC methods, technical writing, and ECN implementation
• Ability to work independently, lead small technical teams, estimate cost/schedule, report progress, and support proposals
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience

• Standard schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
