Job Title: Maintenance Electrician


Pay Range: $23 - $30 per hour depending on experience and knowledge level.


Shift/Schedule: Typically, 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week during pack. Pack for Ripon usually begins mid-late June and can end as late as mid-end of November. Mid-season (usually September), electricians will switch shifts to balance time between days and nights. During the off-season, the schedule shifts to 5 8-hour days or 4 10-hour days per week.


Plant Info: Ripon has 4 large warehouses and handles labeling, shipping, and receiving. During production, the plant processes canned green beans and carrots. The production area includes both indoor and outdoor aspects for snipping, blanching, cooking, etc.

Electrician Job Description

Assigned electrical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment. Completes electrical repairs during the processing season to meet production goals. Overhaul, install, and maintain plant equipment and systems during non-production periods to ensure readiness for the next production cycle.


Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Repair, replace, and upgrade electrical components as necessary.
  • Read electrical diagrams, blueprints, and sketches to determine layout and work specifics.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, control systems, and electrical apparatus in plant machinery.
  • Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) performed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure production equipment operates efficiently.
  • Monitor equipment operation and perform necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
  • Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • At least 1 – 3 years of electrical experience in manufacturing and/or food processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Solid understanding of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work long hours during the production season and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
