Plant Overview
This facility is a frozen repack and storage operation supporting retail and food service packaging. The site does not manufacture product. It repackages and packages frozen vegetables into multiple formats and stores large volumes of finished goods. Maintenance supports high-volume packaging lines and cold storage operations with a strong focus on uptime, safety, and reliability.
Schedule
· Night shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday to Friday.
· Weekends: required as production needs dictate.
Work environment
· Production areas are typically in the low 40s°F up to near 50°F.
· Freezer storage areas run about -5°F to -15°F depending on season.
· Most work is in production with periodic freezer tasks. The expectation is not continuous freezer exposure.
Compensation and union details
· Union role (UFCW Local 663).
· Effective 02/01/2026 base rates: Mechanic B $30.68/hr; Mechanic A $33.79/hr; Metal Fabricator $35.27/hr; Master Mechanic $36.63/hr.
· Night shift differential: $0.75/hr.
· Most hires start at Mechanic B. Higher starting rate may be considered for unusually strong and directly relevant experience.
· Skill-based progression to higher classifications.
What you will work on
· Preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging and support equipment.
· Troubleshooting mechanical failures to restore production quickly and safely.
· Repair, replace, and rebuild components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, drives, and related mechanical systems.
· Support equipment reliability on vertical baggers, corn-on-the-cob lines, and bulk packaging lines.
· Work closely with the maintenance team and production leaders to prioritize downtime events and execute repairs.
Electrical scope
· Mechanic-forward role with practical electrical basics expected.
· Comfort with lockout/tagout, local disconnects, and simple motor replacement work.
· 3rd-party electrician onsite Monday to Friday for installs and advanced electrical work.
· PLC familiarity is a plus, not a requirement.

· Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair ability.
· Safe work practices including lockout/tagout and disciplined PPE use.
· Reliability, steady attendance, and proactive communication.
· Ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar equipment and processes.
· Comfort working in cold environments as described.
Nice-to-have skills
· Cold storage, packaging, or distribution maintenance experience.
· Welding or fabrication experience.
· Food manufacturing or GMP exposure (helpful, not required).
· Basic PLC awareness.
