Pay Rate: $75 to $84/hr

Duration: Minimum 9 month contract with strong extension potential

Travel: Occasional overnight travel possible

This Software Test Engineer role supports our clients program that focuses on naval undersea defense with focus on advanced hardware and software integrated systems.

The role supports Linux and VxWorks based software development and system integration testing for complex hardware and software defense systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role executing test plans, developing test procedures, supporting integration testing, and working directly with DoD customers during formal acceptance events.

This position works in a collaborative onsite engineering environment within clients Physical Sciences & Systems business unit.

Primary Mission

Perform software and hardware integration testing to support system qualification and acceptance on a classified naval defense program.

Key Responsibilities

Test Engineering

• Develop test plans and test procedures
• Develop test tools and automation utilities
• Execute test plans for Linux and VxWorks software systems
• Document test results and maintain test records
• Track requirements verification

Integration Testing

• Perform HW and SW integration testing
• Identify failures and isolate root causes
• Work with development teams to resolve defects
• Support smoke testing and regression testing
• Support system integration events

Customer Test Events

• Support DoD sell off testing events
• Support integration test periods
• Interface with government engineers
• Support system acceptance testing
• Produce test documentation and reports

Collaboration

• Work with software developers when bugs are identified
• Track defects through resolution
• Support configuration management processes
• Adapt to new technologies and tools
• Support multi discipline engineering teams

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizen
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 5+ years experience
• or
• MS plus 3+ years experience

• Test documentation experience
• Test tracking tools experience
• HW/SW integration testing experience

Preferred Experience

• Embedded software testing
• Linux environments
• VxWorks environments

• QA or configuration management experience
