- 1st shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
- 2nd shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
OR traditional 8-hour shifts:
- 1st (7:00 AM–3:00 PM)
- 2nd (3:00 PM–11:00 PM)
- 3rd (11:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- On-Call Rotation: Must be available during this time if necessary
Seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to join our team in Burlington, NC. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting the engineering team in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes. This role requires a critical thinking approach to ensure that all machinery and systems operate at peak efficiency, contributing to the overall productivity, quality of our production lines, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive value added changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production machinery.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment according to schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
- Communicate with OEMs to troubleshoot, diagnose and modify equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Read engineering drawings to identify, procure, and trouble shoot components/sub-assemblies ensuring required parts are available
- Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with engineers to identify opportunities for improving manufacturing processes and equipment performance.
- Implement modifications and upgrades to machinery to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Spearhead engineering projects, installations and modifications ensuring proper application, and documentation, and training is conducted for all stakeholders involved.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and downtime on a daily basis.
- Prepare detailed reports on troubleshooting efforts, repairs, and equipment modifications.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment readiness and resolve any technical issues that may arise during production.
- Provide technical support and training to operators on equipment use and troubleshooting.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall production efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Engineering Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and other automation systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software.
- Proficiency with technology, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
