$70.00–$96.50/hr depending on depth of nuclear PM experience

$2,500 mobilization + $2,500 demobilization paid at start and completion for the right candidate if not local- NOT GUARANTEED

Who This Role Is For
This role is for a senior nuclear project manager who has already led large, complex, multidisciplinary nuclear or utility projects and can step in with minimal ramp-up.
You have owned scope, schedule, cost, risk, and execution.
You have led design engineering firms.
You have defended project decisions in front of senior leadership.
If your background is mostly coordination, planning support, or single-discipline execution, this role will not be a fit.
What You Will Do
- Own end-to-end project management for new nuclear development initiatives.
- Lead 10+ internal and external contributors across engineering, procurement, construction, and vendors.
- Direct Architectural Engineer performance from conceptual design through implementation.
- Develop and control project scope and actively manage scope creep.
- Build and manage integrated schedules aligned to risk, critical path, and execution readiness.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and funding profiles.
- Track cost vs budget and ensure accurate invoicing and contract compliance.
- Lead procurement strategy including long-lead material and equipment.
- Resolve execution conflicts, schedule delays, and resource constraints.
- Prepare and present clear project status updates to senior leadership, steering committees, and boards.
- Mentor junior project managers and project controls staff.
- Support long-range planning strategies tied to assigned projects.
Required Experience and Credentials
You must meet one of the following and PMP is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field and 14+ years of relevant technical experience
- OR
- AA/AS degree and 16+ years of relevant technical experience
- OR
- High School Diploma or GED and 18+ years of relevant technical experience
- PMP certification required
- Proven experience managing large, complex, multidisciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
Required Skills
You should have clear, demonstrated experience in the following:
- Leading complex nuclear or utility projects, not just supporting them
- Managing design engineering activities from concept through implementation
- Directly overseeing AE firms and integrating design into execution
- Developing scope, controlling scope creep, and managing risk
- Building and managing cost, schedule, and staffing plans
- Presenting project status and decisions to senior leadership and governance groups
Strongly Preferred Background
- Commercial nuclear utility project management experience
- Prior experience at Energy Northwest, Columbia Generating Station, Hanford, or Pacific Northwest nuclear or DOE facilities
- Experience in nuclear, combined cycle, oil and gas, or large power delivery environments
- Advanced degree in a technical or business discipline
- Experience with procurement strategies for long-lead equipment
- Experience reviewing technical specifications for major systems such as turbines, generators, or transformers
- Strong contract management experience working with corporate legal teams
- Proficiency with Passport and MS Office
What Will Disqualify a Candidate
- PMP not completed
- Primarily coordinator, planner, or discipline-specific background
- No experience owning AE performance
- No experience presenting to senior leadership or governance groups
- Expectation of remote work or per diem
