Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 base salary plus commission
High-End Flex: Up to $75,000 base for a proven outside sales professional with strong new business development experience
Territory: Tampa Bay and surrounding market
Schedule: Field-based outside sales role
Position Overview
A growing professional security services company is hiring an Outside Sales Representative to build new business across the Tampa Bay market.
This is a true outside sales role for someone who likes being in the field, meeting decision-makers, walking sites, attending local events, and building business through real relationships.
The strongest candidates may come from physical security, commercial security technology, or a related field-based B2B service industry. Security industry experience is highly preferred, but not required if you have a proven record of building new business in a territory-based sales role.
This role can be a strong fit for someone who has sold services such as facilities support, fire and life safety, HVAC service, uniforms, pest control, waste services, industrial rentals, commercial equipment, building services, low-voltage solutions, or other recurring B2B services.
You will be selling integrated security solutions that may include professional security officers, armed and unarmed coverage, patrol services, surveillance technology, remote monitoring, alarm response, site assessments, and security consulting.
The right person knows how to create conversations, identify customer problems, build trust, and turn local relationships into new business.
Compensation and Commission
This role offers a base salary of $60,000 to $70,000 plus commission. The company may stretch to $75,000 base for a candidate with verified outside sales experience and a proven record of winning new business.
Commission is paid on account profit:
- Year 1: 8% profit commission on the account
- Year 2: 4% profit commission on the account
- After Year 2, accounts may transition to Account Management unless there has been significant growth or expansion
This structure rewards new business development, account growth, and continued customer engagement.
What You’ll Do
- Build new business across the Tampa Bay market
- Prospect through site visits, local networking, referrals, trade shows, conferences, and direct outreach
- Meet with customers in person to understand their business, site needs, operational risks, and service gaps
- Conduct site walks and discovery conversations to identify needs and recommend practical solutions
- Sell security services, patrol support, surveillance, remote monitoring, and related solutions
- Build relationships with property managers, facilities leaders, operations leaders, security directors, logistics managers, construction leaders, and business owners
- Prepare and present solutions that align with the customer’s site, budget, risk profile, and service expectations
- Negotiate pricing, service terms, contracts, and implementation details
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline updates, notes, and opportunities in the CRM
- Partner with internal operations teams to support smooth client onboarding and account launches
- Continue developing new pipeline and expanding the territory
What We’re Looking For
- Outside sales, territory sales, field-based B2B sales, or physical security operations experience
- Proven ability to build relationships face to face
- Comfort spending most of the week in the field
- Strong prospecting, presentation, follow-up, and negotiation skills
- Ability to create opportunities without relying only on inbound leads or email campaigns
- Self-starter who can manage a local territory
- Strong customer service mindset
- Ability to understand customer needs and recommend practical solutions
- CRM discipline and accurate sales activity tracking
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally throughout the Tampa Bay market
Experience That Stands Out
- Physical security, contract security, guard services, patrol, or security operations experience
- Commercial security systems experience, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, remote monitoring, or integrated security systems
- Field-based B2B sales experience in a recurring service industry
- Experience selling to property management, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, education, construction, commercial real estate, industrial, or multi-site customers
- Experience with site walks, service assessments, proposals, and account start-ups
- Proven record of self-generated pipeline and new logo wins
- Existing Tampa Bay market relationships
