We are hiring a Maintenance Mechanic A for our manufacturing facility in Chatsworth, California. This role is essential in ensuring optimal operations of production equipment by performing advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks across a variety of systems including motors, pumps, pneumatic tools, PLCs, and instrumentation. The position requires hands-on technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to diagnose and correct complex system issues.

This is an on-site, unionized position with a base compensation of $40 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime and a performance-based bonus. The standard shift is second shift (Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday work), subject to availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting to resolve equipment malfunctions quickly and effectively.
  • Execute maintenance on conveyors, motors, lubrication systems, and production line automation systems.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, both written and digital.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by creating and updating SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Participate in the development of preventative maintenance plans and root cause analysis investigations.
  • Train and coach operators and fellow maintenance staff.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, GMP, QMS, and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with leads, engineering, production, and reliability teams to meet plant performance goals.
  • Use CMMS systems to track and close out maintenance actions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a mechanical/electrical maintenance role, preferably within food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Equivalent technical education may be considered in lieu of some experience.

Knowledge & Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of machine design, repair, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and applicable safety regulations.
  • Familiar with computer programming, ladder logic, and automated control systems.
  • Capable of interpreting technical diagrams and data.
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications preferred.
  • Basic math, reasoning, and technical communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights (including rooftops), use scissor lifts, and handle chemicals safely.
  • Work involves exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and manufacturing-related hazards.
  • Personal protective equipment is required, including smocks, gloves, bump caps, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
