Pay Rate: $80 to $93.50/hr

Duration: 8 month contract with strong extension potential and possible conversion to perm

Program Type: Sole source defense program

Travel: Less than 10% domestic

This HW/SW Systems Engineer role supports a program that is a naval undersea defense program focused on advanced hardware and software integrated systems.

The role is heavily focused on DOORS-based requirements engineering, requirements decomposition, and verification strategy development supporting system qualification and customer acceptance.

This position is part of a collaborative onsite engineering team working directly with customer scientists and program leadership.

Strong DOORS experience is preferred.

Primary Mission

Perform HW/SW Systems Engineering focused on requirements baseline development, requirements decomposition, verification strategy, and system acceptance support.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Engineering

• Capture system requirements and baseline in DOORS
• Maintain requirements database through configuration management processes
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering leads
• Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
• Manage requirement changes and baseline updates

Verification and Validation

• Develop and execute requirements verification strategy
• Coordinate with Design and Test leads
• Ensure validation and verification plans support system sell off
• Support qualification testing and acceptance testing
• Ensure system meets performance and non performance requirements

Systems Engineering Leadership

• Lead system development activities
• Support system troubleshooting
• Champion process improvement initiatives
• Interface with customer scientists and engineers
• Work with program leadership team
• Present program status through written and oral reports
• Support overall program success

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizen
• Strong DOORS requirements management experience
• Experience building requirements traceability matrices
• Experience with configuration management
• Experience participating in CCBs
• Experience in HW/SW integrated systems environments

Education and Experience

One of the following:

• STEM degree plus 10+ years experience
• Advanced STEM degree plus 7+ years experience
• No degree plus 14+ years experience
