Human Resources Manager
A food processing manufacturer is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for its processing facility in Leicester, NY. This role will own day-to-day HR leadership for the site, including policy administration, employee relations, compliance, recruiting support, benefits administration, leave management, workers’ compensation, and HR/legal training. The HR Manager will also partner with plant and senior leadership on workforce initiatives, employee engagement, and operational support for both full-time and seasonal teams.
The best fit for this role is a hands-on HR leader who is comfortable working directly with plant employees, supervisors, and leadership in a manufacturing or processing environment. Candidates should bring strong judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to manage both tactical HR execution and broader people initiatives. Union experience is a plus, and conversational Spanish is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $95,000 annually
- Bonus eligibility: up to 7.5% based on plant performance

Responsibilities
- Manage, interpret, and administer HR policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Support employee relations matters and provide guidance to employees, supervisors, and plant leadership.
- Recruit, interview, and select qualified applicants for full-time and seasonal openings.
- Conduct new employee orientations and support onboarding for plant employees.
- Administer employee benefits programs at the location level.
- Manage FMLA, short-term disability, leave, safety, and workers’ compensation programs.
- Conduct required HR and legal compliance training for employees.
- Ensure employee files, records, and HR documentation are accurate and properly maintained.
- Partner with senior management on HR initiatives, workforce planning, and site-level people priorities.
- Lead HR programs and staff while maintaining a strong, professional presence across the facility.
Qualifications
- College degree and/or 4+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience supporting employees in a manufacturing, food processing, agricultural processing, or similar plant environment strongly preferred.
- Experience working with employees who may have limited English proficiency; conversational Spanish preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, and computer skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.

- Union relations experience is a plus.
