Outside Territory Sales Representative – Security Services

Location: Birmingham, AL metro area

Work Model: 100% remote with field territory focus (Will work onsite 3-4 days per week during first 90 days for hands on training)

Territory Coverage: Birmingham and surrounding counties

Looking for Outside Sales Reps with 2-5 years experience!

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $60,000–$75,000
  • Commission on new business
  • Expected total comp:
  • Year 1: $75k–$90k
  • Year 2: $100k–$125k+ with traction

Field Sales Ratio:

  • 75%+ of time spent in the field with clients

Reporting To:

  • Regional Sales Manager / Sales Leadership

Role Overview

You are a field-first sales professional in the security industry.

This is not an inside sales role.

You are out in the territory, face-to-face, walking sites, meeting decision makers, and building long-cycle deals.

You sell a mix of:

  • Security guard services
  • Physical security solutions
  • Select cyber and technology-enabled security offerings
  • Commercial and residential security where applicable

You thrive in complex environments with 6+ month sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.

Compensation and Growth Path

Commission Structure:

  • Year 1: 8% of profit on accounts you win
  • Year 2: 4% of profit on accounts you win
  • After Year 2:
  • If accounts are stable with no meaningful growth, they transition to Account Management
  • Commissions end on transitioned accounts

This model rewards hunters who continue opening new doors and expanding territory footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and actively work the Birmingham territory and surrounding markets
  • Meet prospects on-site including facilities, campuses, construction projects, and commercial properties
  • Sell security guard services, patrol, monitoring, and integrated security solutions
  • Identify risk, compliance, and safety gaps and position solutions
  • Navigate long sales cycles and multi-layer decision processes
  • Build relationships with facility managers, security directors, operations leaders, and ownership groups
  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and activity in CRM
  • Attend trade shows, site walks, and industry events as needed
  • Stay visible, responsive, and accountable in the territory

Required Experience and Traits

  • Proven B2B field sales experience
  • Background selling security guard services, patrol, or physical security strongly preferred
  • Comfortable with 6+ month sales cycles
  • High autonomy and self-discipline
  • Strong relationship builder with executive presence
  • Able to sell value, not price
  • Comfortable walking sites, standing during meetings, and traveling locally
  • Organized pipeline management and CRM discipline

Preferred Background

  • Security guard services or patrol companies
  • Security integrators or hybrid security firms
  • Experience with access control, video surveillance, alarms, or monitoring
  • Selling into:
  • Manufacturing
  • Healthcare
  • Warehousing and logistics
  • Corporate campuses
  • Multi-site commercial facilities
