This role requires extensive experience managing complex MEP systems, critical infrastructure installations, and fast-paced schedules associated with data center construction. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Direct and oversee all field construction activities from sitework through commissioning and turnover.
- Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term project schedules in coordination with Project Management.
- Lead daily field operations to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities.
- Conduct regular subcontractor coordination meetings and daily planning sessions.
- Review construction documents and proactively identify conflicts or constructability concerns.
Safety Management
- Promote and enforce Pogue's safety culture and policies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
- Lead safety meetings, site inspections, and incident investigations.
- Hold subcontractors accountable for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintain documentation required for safety compliance and reporting.
Quality Control
- Ensure all work is installed according to contract documents, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and quality standards.
- Manage quality control programs and inspection processes.
- Coordinate and track punch list completion.
- Drive first-time quality execution and deficiency prevention efforts.
- Ensure proper documentation and closeout procedures are completed.
Data Center & Mission Critical Responsibilities
- Coordinate installation of critical MEP systems including:
- Medium and low-voltage electrical systems
- Generators and fuel systems
- UPS systems
- Switchgear
- Chillers and cooling infrastructure
- CRAH/CRAC units
- Building automation systems
- Fire protection and detection systems
- Lead MEP coordination efforts among subcontractors, consultants, and commissioning teams.
- Manage equipment deliveries and installation sequencing for long-lead mission critical equipment.
- Support and coordinate testing, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure critical path milestones are achieved.
- Work closely with client representatives to maintain operational and technical requirements.
- Participate in integrated systems testing (IST), commissioning activities, and final acceptance procedures.
Team Development
- Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Field Support personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.

- Support recruiting, training, and workforce development initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
- 3+ years of Superintendent experience managing large-scale construction projects.
- Experience leading data center, mission critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, healthcare, or similarly complex MEP-intensive projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors on complex projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with construction technology and project management software.
Preferred
- Direct data center construction experience.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or edge data center facilities.
- Experience managing projects exceeding $50 million.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Commissioning or mission critical systems experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
