$27.00 to $38.50 per hr depending on experience

Overtime available during harvest season

Schedule

Primary schedule is 1st shift outside of harvest season.

During harvest (late June through mid-November), mechanics must be flexible to rotate shifts depending on crew assignment.

Harvest operations may require extended hours and schedule adjustments based on crop flow and weather conditions.

  • Plant – 2 shifts, 12 hours each. (5a – 5p & 5p – 5a) 

1 scheduled day off per week 



Position Overview

An established food manufacturing operation in Ripon, WI is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to support harvest and processing operations.

This role works on agricultural harvesting equipment, transport equipment, and mechanical systems that support vegetable harvesting and plant supply operations.

The position includes both shop work during the off-season and field service during harvest to ensure equipment remains operational during critical crop intake periods.

The plant processes green beans, Italian beans, wax beans, and carrots and operates a large seasonal harvest operation requiring highly reliable equipment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural harvesting equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance and rebuild equipment during off-season months
  • Monitor equipment performance in the field during harvest season
  • Repair harvesting equipment quickly to avoid crop flow interruptions
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment including:
  • mill
  • lathe
  • welding equipment
  • hydraulic systems
  • Rebuild mechanical components including pumps, conveyors, and drive systems
  • Fabricate replacement parts when necessary
  • Maintain maintenance records and track equipment repair costs
  • Work closely with harvest operations teams to ensure equipment readiness
  • Assist with shop organization and preventative maintenance programs

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Experience working with diesel-powered equipment
  • Hydraulic systems troubleshooting
  • Power transmission knowledge
  • Ability to perform mechanical rebuilds
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • CDL beneficial but not required
