  • Shift: 1st shift
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Travel: Required within Alamance County to different site locations
  • On-Call Rotation: Weekend Manager schedule 



Position Opportunity 

Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong passion for continuous improvement and process optimization. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoy identifying, leading, and implementing change. You'll work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and ensure the reliability of our high-volume production lines.

We welcome applications from Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering backgrounds. Fresh graduates with strong internships, co-ops, or project-based experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes (Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, etc.)
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize line performance, reduce downtime, and improve throughput
  • Design, develop, and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues alongside maintenance and production personnel
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements through data analysis
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Document engineering processes and maintain technical records
  • Support new product and process trials from concept to production scale-up

 

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar Engineering degrees. (Required) 

 

Related Experience

  • Previous co-op/internship or full-time experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing

 

Knowledge/Skills Experience: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with lean tools (5S, value stream mapping, kaizen, etc.) and root cause methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus
  • Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, or industrial processes a plus

 

Travel Requirements: Minimal – primarily on-site
