Systems Engineer II – Systems Integration, Test, and Verification


Location: Tewksbury, MA

Duration: 12-month contract with strong extension or conversion potential

Pay Rate: $60–64.50/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Week: 40 hrs/week

Travel: ~10% domestic and occasional international travel possible

Security Clearance: Interim or Active Secret required for submittal

Citizenship: U.S. Citizen required

Position Overview

The Systems Engineer II supports integration, verification, and validation activities for advanced defense electronics and mission systems in a laboratory environment.

This role focuses on system-level integration and test execution, combining software, hardware, and networked subsystems into operational configurations for validation and performance evaluation.

You will support integration builds, execute formal verification events, analyze system performance, and help resolve technical issues discovered during testing.

This role is ideal for engineers with experience in systems integration, software builds, networking, and test execution who want hands-on work in a structured engineering environment.

Core Responsibilities

Integration and Test Execution

  • Execute integration and test activities according to defined schedules and milestones
  • Support integration planning and test preparation
  • Perform system-level verification and validation testing
  • Execute formal test procedures and test events
  • Document test results and technical observations
  • Support troubleshooting of integration issues
  • Validate system functionality against requirements

Software and System Integration

  • Install and configure system software builds
  • Support regression testing of new software releases
  • Integrate software into hardware test configurations
  • Support configuration control activities
  • Verify correct system configuration prior to testing

System Performance Analysis

  • Perform analysis of test results
  • Identify anomalies and technical issues
  • Support root cause investigations
  • Evaluate system performance against requirements
  • Support corrective actions

Test Planning Support

  • Assist in development of:
  • Test plans
  • Test procedures
  • Test scripts
  • Integration procedures
  • Participate in:
  • Peer reviews
  • Gate reviews
  • Test readiness reviews

Laboratory and Test Setup Activities

  • Configure lab test environments
  • Support network configuration activities
  • Integrate hardware subsystems
  • Install test software tools
  • Support test equipment setup

Typical lab equipment may include:

  • Data acquisition equipment

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work with:
  • Systems engineering teams

  • Coordinate test readiness activities

Compliance and Documentation

  • Follow established engineering procedures
  • Support configuration management requirements
  • Maintain documentation accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with export control requirements
  • Support Department of Defense technology release processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM discipline
  • 2+ years of integration or test experience
  • Experience with at least one programming language:
  • Python
  • MATLAB
  • C/C++
  • Perl
  • Experience with Linux or Unix environments
  • Experience with:
