EHS Manager

A food and beverage manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs at its Arkansas City facility. This plant-facing leader will combine strong regulatory knowledge with practical floor-level execution to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and build a durable safety culture.

The best-fit candidate has progressive EHS leadership experience in food, beverage, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment and can personally lead audits, investigations, corrective actions, training, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement.

Location: Arkansas City, KS 67005

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Work Setting: Onsite

Role Type: Direct hire, full-time

Openings: 1

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 base salary

Relocation: Full relocation package available

Travel: Occasional domestic travel may be required

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Lead EHS audits, inspections, assessments, gap analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and workplace safety.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, reporting, corrective actions, and follow-up.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training for employees and leadership.
  • Monitor EHS metrics and KPIs and translate findings into practical improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain, communicate, and regularly test emergency preparedness and response plans.
  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Engineering, Legal, Maintenance, and other plant leaders to embed EHS into daily operations.
  • Supervise and mentor EHS staff or site coordinators when applicable.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Progressive EHS experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Hands-on plant EHS experience involving compliance, audits, investigations, corrective actions, and training.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant requirements.
  • Proven leadership, communication, change-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Arkansas City, Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Eight or more years of progressive EHS experience, including at least three years in leadership.
  • Food or beverage manufacturing experience.
  • Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or a comparable credential.
  • Experience with Enablon, Intelex, VelocityEHS, or a comparable EHS platform.
  • Ability to influence employees and leaders across all levels of a manufacturing organization.
