Minnesota Electrician Licensing – Candidate Requirements
Licensing is important for this role. Licensed electricians are strongly preferred.
If submitting an unlicensed candidate, the following must be confirmed:
Required
- Total electrical hours must be verified and documented
- Hours must qualify the candidate to test for a Minnesota Journeyman license
- Candidates must be willing to take the licensing test as a condition of employment
Notes
- Logged electrical hours determine what license level a candidate can pursue
- Vocational or technical school hours may count toward licensing requirements
- Candidates who have enough hours but have not attempted the Journeyman test may raise concerns
Pay Expectations
- Top pay range typically aligns with Master Electrician–level candidates
