Project Controls Professional III (Nuclear)
Location: Richland, WA (Onsite)
Schedule: 4x10 (Mon–Thurs)
Duration: 12-month contract with strong extension potential
Pay: $80-108/hr (depending on experience) + $216/day per diem (non-local)

Position Overview
We are hiring a Project Controls Professional III to support capital and O&M projects at a nuclear generating facility.
This role leads cost, schedule, and performance tracking using Earned Value Management (EVM) and Primavera P6 in a highly regulated environment. You will partner with project managers, finance, and operations to ensure projects stay aligned to baseline scope, schedule, and budget.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will operate independently, provide recommendations, and directly influence project outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Lead project controls activities across capital and O&M projects
- Develop and maintain cost baselines and P6 schedules
- Monitor performance against plan and identify variances
- Perform trend analysis and forecasting
- Deliver monthly financial reporting and project summaries
- Recommend corrective actions to recover cost and schedule deviations
- Track risks and opportunities and maintain proper documentation
- Process and review financial journal entries
- Facilitate monthly project status review meetings
- Support project managers with planning and execution strategy
- Maintain schedule structures and layouts in Primavera P6
- Ensure adherence to project controls and change management processes
- Support onboarding and mentoring of junior staff
- Identify and drive process improvements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 6–10 years of relevant experience
- OR
- Associate’s degree with 12+ years
- OR
- High school diploma with 14+ years
- Proven experience in:
- Project controls in a nuclear, utility, or power generation environment
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting
- Large capital project support
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Primavera P6 Professional
- GAAP principles
- Net billing agreements
- Nuclear plant operations and project environments
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Power BI
- Certifications:
- PMP, CCP, or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience with:
- Process improvement initiatives
- Working independently with minimal oversight
- Presenting to project managers and senior leadership

Compensation & Per Diem
This role offers $216/day per diem for non-local candidates, which equates to approximately:
- $1,512/week
- ~$6,500/month
- ~$79,000/year
This is intended to offset housing, meals, and travel-related expenses while working onsite.
